CURnR

Rock and roll has evolved from its authentic social dancing roots to encompass continental-style high kicks as well as showy acrobatics. If this sounds like your sort of thing then anyone is welcome to join and train with the Cambridge University Rock'n'Roll Team - even those who are not eligible for the inter-varsity competitions.
Each year, dancers who show high potential may be selected to join the Cambridge University Rock'n'Roll team (CURnR). This selection process is not very formal and is performed by the team captain(s) and coaches.
Being on the team is a great opportunity, as it allows you to get the benefit of excellent private tuition. Not only this, but you can start to put figures together, with a dance partner, into a short rock 'n' roll dance routine. You will be able to integrate into a community of very friendly and enthusiastic people and will learn to improve your dancing through these people.
Join the team
If you're enthusiastic enough then, with some training, you can become part of the demonstrations that we perform. If competition is your thing then you can also do that at any of the several student national competitions held throughout the year.
For more information on joining the team please see the team's own website or FaceBook page or contact rnr@cambridgedancers.org.
Hire the team
The Rock 'n' Roll team do not only compete, we also love to perform at various different venues and events. If you're interested in us performing at your event please see the demonstrations page for further details including a list of some previous performances.

Over the years the team has performed a number of different routines, many of these captured on video which can be seen here. New routines are always in development so we always have something surprising up our sleeves for performances.
