12 November 2009Beginners’ General Dancing
Thursday
Time7:30pm–9:30pm
VenueOld Library, Emmanuel
CostFree entry

We appreciate that Friday night General Dancing is often daunting to beginners and improvers, so this is a night of unadulterated social dancing just for you! With a play-list of beginner-friendly music (jives, cha chas, rhumbas, waltzes, quicksteps), you can practice until your heart is content. We will provide the venue and some experienced friendly dancers to help you if you are stuck and perhaps show you some snazzy new moves; you just bring yourselves! Hopefully we can then tempt you to come to the Friday sessions, like the themed GD night (see below).

Raid your wardrobes for a night of General Dancing themed on the celebrated director Baz Luhrmann. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes of the night.

“How Cindarella and Prince Charming can take to the ballroom floor without crashing”

Ideal for beginners or improvers who want to build up their confidence before attending the ball, and for more experienced dancers who want to brush up their basic floorcraft skills, this workshop will teach you, or remind you of, some of the classic steps to prevent you crashing into each other on the dance floor! The more people that come the more effective the workshop will be...and if you are already there, then why not stay for the fun party dance workshop that will follow after a short break?
